Draw animation for Intro to Animation class at RIT. Short animation about a girl who is too short to get on the swing. :(

I threw this together in like... 7 hours... and was too busy with my other final to spend more time cleaning up the lines. But I think this is very cute. And the music I found is perfect, I think.

The music is by Galdson, called "Roots." Hehehe.

Enjoy.

@00:21That's cute! I love the expression on her face when she sees the swing. :) I like the way the lines shake, too. It adds to the overall mood of the piece.

@00:21You're getting really good Jay-Nine! This looked like one of those public service messages you'd see during Saturday morning cartoons during the 90s. -sigh- I miss those. But anyways, yeah! Awesome!

@00:21I am that girl. If only the trees in the park would've done that for ME.

I'm also envious of your ability to try your hand at drawn animation.

Have you tried before? It's so much fun! I would have made this a kabillionjillion times better if I had time. It's one of those things where you just don't mind spending forever doing. It's exhilarating to watch things come to life.

I did it with a pad of paper one time. It was a duckling hatching. But I never got to the point where I could actually record it on film. I've got no idea how to do that.

Haha. Well, you get a camera (like a regular digital camera), put it on a steady tripod or stand so it doesn't move, then have a set place where you stick the paper, and take a picture of each one individually. We use a program our teachers developed called "Frame Thief" that is good for stop motion and this. Or, you can scan every picture into the computer. Either way, you would need to import the image sequence into quicktime, photoshop, after effects, or something to make it move. :3
