Literature Text

Listen here, my friend:
In life I’ve learned that the ugliest fruit has the sweetest taste.
They can be juicy
And savory
And appease all those around them.
But some people don’t recognize those fruits.
What a waste.
And all the fruits
Who are good
And to the likings of all who find them
Are set apart from those pretty looks.
They are cast from the bundles.
So, my friend, look carefully.
Find not the popular or the gorgeous
Find the kind and the sweet.
Look for the ugly on the outside.
Search for the outcasts
For the ugliest fruit has the sweetest taste.
This was an assignment for school. We read the poem "Mother to Son" by Langston Hughes and had to create our own metaphorical poem that give advice about life. Mine was totally different from everyone else's because they said stuff like: "life is like.... " and I don't mention anything like that. I hope I get a good grade. Give me your thoughts...

PS - I'm not a poet, so please don't criticize me! T-T;
